2022 State Alaska Master Gardeners Conference
Saturday, April 2, 2022 - Evangelo's Restaurant

This year's Master Gardeners Conference was a fun, educational and rewarding event for gardeners from all around Alaska. It was also the first in-person meeting of this type in 3 years, hooray!
Thank you so much to all the attendees, conference committee members, speakers, vendors, and restaurant staff for helping make this a memorable, successful meeting!!

Floral Arrangement Class
(Nov. 1, 2021)

Tonja Hall, owner of Fleurish floral shop in Wasilla, was our guest speaker at this very informative and enjoyable class.  She shared how to create lovely arrangements with flowers and grasses, including baby's breath, lilies, Chinese lantern flowers, eucalyptus, rosemary, and several other varieties of plants.  Many lovely bouquets were created by club members, all to be taken home for continued enjoyment!

Alaska State Fair Parade - August 21, 2021

Congratulations to MatSu Master Gardeners on their inspiring "Seeing is Believing" float entry, which won first place!  Kudos to Curt Mueller, who designed and planned the float for the Alaska State Fair parade. Many thanks to those who helped complete the float: Curt and Marge Mueller, their daughters Marta and Dawn, Debra Caillouet, Deb & Ken Blaylock, Eva Cohnen-Brown, and Chuck & Lenita Deda.  Thank you to those who shared photos.

JUNE GARDENING EXTRAVAGANZA - 2018

The first week of June (2018) saw the Master Gardeners involved in several community projects, including planting events at the  Pioneer Home and Palmer Library Planter (not to mention the annual plant sale and working on home gardens).  Nice job, everyone!

Bumper Potato Crop

Lenita Deda had a good harvest of potatoes this fall. Seed potatoes were purchased from Gregory Kalal, a member of the Master Gardeners Club. Lenita suggests members may want to check with him for seed potatoes next spring.
